What is Cyber Security?
Saving and protecting the computer systems, servers, mobiles, networks, and data from viruses, threats, and malicious attacks are known as cyber security. It is also known as electronic system security and information technology security. There are various cyber threats from which electronic systems are protected.
These threats are –
- Cybercrime
- Cyberattack
- Cyberterrorism
The common methods to threaten cyber security are –
- Malware
- Antivirus
- Trojans
- Spyware
- Adware
- Phishing
- Denial of service attack
Future of Cyber Security
But, have you ever wondered how cyber security will look role in the future of cyber security.
1. Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence helps analyze the huge volume of data and predict the future. It uses the technique of patterns and algorithms for prediction. Hackers also use Artificial Intelligence’s technique to analyze the stolen data: password details and network traffic. It needs large organizational resources to work properly.
2. Grid Computing
Grid Computing is also a part of it. It involves the utilization of computers and other devices all over the world. It is beneficial in making a supercomputer at a very low cost. Today, even mobile phones are used in grid computing because of the advancements in technology. In the future, cyber security training has to ensure that its scope includes everything that uses technology.
All the cyber attacks from spam use sophisticated and fraudulent techniques to trick people into revealing their credit card details. Its frequency is growing day by day.
3. Increased Security Threats
The cases and number of cyber security threats will increase year after year. Some of the examples are –
Organized Gangs – The cybercriminals will not just be confined to only one place. They will reach all the international boundaries and will share the information. The gangs will come up together to launch the attacks on a large scale. This kind of threat will be the most common in the future.
4. Untrusted Internet
Many people assume that they can trust the internet network easily. Many of the entities on the internet are legal and have to comply with the rules and regulations. In the future, the number of providers will tend to increase. Along with this, the growth of disputes between the nations will also increase. This will, in turn, increase cyber security threats.
5. Increased Political Interference
Using social media to sway the public’s opinion has become common today. This type of cybercrime can cause political unrest. In the future, this problem will increase on a large scale.
Conclusion
The importance of cyber security in the future will not diminish, perhaps increase even more than today. We are more dependent on digital products and platforms, and this will, in turn, increase the need for cyber security. Today, most people are unaware of the threats in cyberspace.
Cybercriminals will also be well aware of this fact and will increase how they would exploit human nature. Therefore, it is essential to learn how to protect yourself in cyberspace. Great Learning offers Stanford cyber security course, which can help understand the various cyber security concepts in detail.
