What Does Bill of Lading Mean?

The agreement for shipping work is a contract or an agreement between the shipper and the carrier for shipping. There should also be the terms and conditions related to the shipment.

3 Types of Bills of Landing

Straight BOL

Order BOL
An Order BOL is the opposite of a Straight BOL: it means that the goods being shipped are yet to be paid for. On a BOL, they’re represented by the term “to order of” followed by the recipient’s name. Unlike a straight BOL, an Order BOL is a negotiable document: it is a promise to pay for the goods being shipped.
Electronic BOL
An Electronic Bill of Lading, or eBOL, is an electronic document that records and transmits the bill’s details without using any physical paper. In the era of the internet, mobile applications, and emphasis on eco-friendliness, eBOLs have become increasingly commonplace in the shipping industry.
